MBBR BIO FILTER PE03

MBBR means: Moving Bed Bioreactor System,  this system uses a complete mix
activated sludge reactor with the addition of a floating inert media, The mixed liquor
is removed in conventional secondary clarifiers, and return sludge is pumped to the
head of the aeration tank as in conventional activated sludge systems.
Control of the concentration of MLSS is complished through wasting sludge
from the return sludge stream.

 MBBR BIO MEDIA

Limitations of MBBR include:
• Pretreatment required to eliminate plugging the screens
• Oil and grease may coat the media
