RTJ gaskets, ring joint gaskets

RTJ-gaskets according to API 6A and ASME B16.20 are used widely in petrochemical industry at elevated temperatures and pressures. Contact surfaces of gasket and flange should be manufactured with care. 

RTJ-gaskets shall either be octagonal or oval in cross section (Type R). Special types with bore are type RX and BX. RTJ-gaskets are manufactured to API 6A and ASME B16.20. Typically sizes range from 1/2 inch (R11) to 36 inch (R105). Special sizes according to drawing are also possible. 

Commonly used materials for RTJ-gaskets are Soft Iron, Low Carbon Steel, 4-6Cr0,5Mo (F5) as well as different types of stainless steel, like SS304, SS316, SS321, SS347. For special applications use of materials like Monel or Inconel is also possible.

Material certificates can be issued, typically type 3.1 to EN 10204 is required. Special tests can be incorporated in testing procedure, like Charpy-test or PMI.
