Pall rings are made out of metal or plastic or ceramic and have same general form as Raschig rings with height euqal to diameter, however portions of the original cylinder wall are cut with the projections bent inward leaving holes in the wall. |
Pall ring
The pall ring underwent further modification by Mass Transfer limited whereupon Cascade Mini ring was born. It has features similar to Pall ring except its height is only one-third the outside diameter. This Shape is said to Orient itself preferentially when dumped.
These traditional Pall ring type packings are mostly made for kind-to-kind replacement. They are available in metal, plastic and ceramic. Raschig rings are also available in metallic, ceramic and carbon material. Both are available in various sizes such as (mm) 16, 25, 38, 50 etc. Material: SS304, carbon steel, SS316, SS304L, PP, PVC,CPVC, PVDF and Ceramic. |

Developed in the 1930s the berl Saddles has significantly increased surface area per unit of packed volume compared to the rashing ring. This Design was further improved by Norton Chemical process Products. The custome is: Intalox Saddle and Super intalox saddle.
Ningbo T.C.I co., combined the advantages of the shap of the intalox saddle with that of a modern ring packing whereupon IMTP (Intalox metal tower packing) come into being into the late 1970.
