Universal Bellows |
TCI custom designs bellows capsules according to the Expansion Joint Manufacturer's This type of joint is generally designed to absorb large amounts of lateral deflection and possibly a small amount of axial compression. The ability to absorb motion in multiple planes makes it an ideal expansion joint for systems where the main anchors are not practical. Other applications include tank settlement and seismic building separations.

TCI will design to suit the customer's individual requirements. The tie rods must have the proper tensile strength to withstand the pressure thrust. All options are available such as materials, fitting types, flow liners and covers.

TIED UNIVERSAL FLANGED WITH SUPPORT |
Some applications require the center pipe to be supported due to the weight of the pipe or weight of the media. Proper clearance is given between the tie rods and supports to allow for lateral deflection. |
TIED UNIVERSAL WITH WELD END |
Weld ends can be furnished in any available material or pipe schedule. |
Appropriate for systems that do not require pressure thrust restraint. Air handling, blower and exhaust systems are typical applications.
Universal expansion joints can be built with victaulic groove nipples to clamp into a victaulic pipe system. All available materials can be furnished. |
UNIVERSAL FLANGED INTEGRAL CENTER SPOOL |
This is an economical expansion joint for low-pressure applications that require lateral movement beyond that of a single bellows. This style eliminates two welds thus a true cost saving. |
UNIVERSAL WITH R.F. FLANGE |
ANSI B16.5 forged flanges can be supplied in all available alloys and pressure classes. The raised face can be removed to provide a flat face with any desired finish.

DUAL BELLOWS WITH ANCHOR BASE |
Although similar to a universal joint, dual bellows expansion joints do not have lateral motion capabilities. They are placed in the center of a long piping run to absorb large amounts of axial movement. An anchor base must be used to make joint function properly. |
